Commercial Real Estate Expert

Brian Bailey is a subject matter expert and senior policy adviser in the Atlanta Fed's Supervision and Regulation Division. He is responsible for providing thought leadership and monitoring emerging trends in commercial real estate and finance. He has been asked to share his thoughts on commercial real estate at hundreds of universities, private companies, and public venues including the Federal Reserve System Board of Governors.

Bailey has extensive experience spanning the public and private sectors with commercial real estate valuation, transaction, development, and financial issues. Prior to joining the Atlanta Fed, he was employed by the private equity firm Tavistock Group to oversee real estate finance and acquisitions. Before joining Tavistock, he was the director of real estate finance for Flagler Development Group, Florida's largest commercial real estate developer. His experience includes working as an executive for EY (Ernst & Young). He also founded an industrial development company that specialized in the acquisition, development, and refurbishment of industrial and office properties. He started in commercial real estate as a local market appraiser.

After receiving a bachelor of arts in business administration from Mercer University, Bailey earned an MBA with concentrations in real estate and finance from the University of Florida. He also attained the CCIM & CRE designations. He serves at the behest of his wife of 25 years, three children and one stubborn cat.
