Total retail sales rose 0.8 percent month over month in October. Core retail sales rose 0.6 percent, and retail sales (excluding autos) rose 0.8 percent, month over month. On a year-over-year basis, total retail sales grew 4.3 percent in October.

Total retail sales rose 0.6 percent month over month in September. Core retail sales rose 0.2 percent, and retail sales (excluding autos) rose 0.5 percent, month over month. On a year-over-year basis, growth in total retail sales was 2.7 percent in September.

Total retail sales remained declined 0.3 percent month over month in August. Core retail sales rose 0.1 percent, and retail sales excluding auto declined 0.1, month over month. On a year-over-year basis, growth in total retail sales was 1.9 percent in August.

Personal Consumption Expenditure (PCE) Price Index
The headline personal consumption expenditure (PCE) price index rose 0.8 percent year over year in July, down from 0.9 percent in June. The core PCE price index, which excludes food and energy, increased 1.6 percent year over year in July, unchanged from the prior four months. On a one-month annualized rate basis, the headline PCE price index was flat in July, down from a 1.3 percent increase in June, and the core PCE price index (one-month annualized rate) increased 1.1 percent in July, up from 0.9 percent in June.
