Edward A. Moratin is president of Lift Orlando, a movement of business leaders working with residents and community partners toward neighborhood revitalization in the heart of Orlando. This collaborative approach has been decreasing childhood poverty and increasing financial mobility for families since 2013. The organization strengthens neighborhoods by building high-quality, mixed-income housing and providing a cradle-to-career educational pipeline while improving community health and wellness and creating economic opportunity for residents. Lift Orlando is a member of the Purpose Built Communities network.
Prior to cofounding Lift Orlando, Mr. Moratin was the executive director of Lifework Leadership Orlando, a leadership development organization dedicated to the training and transformation of business leaders. Mr. Moratin was a founding partner of BAM, a franchise holding company providing coworking and virtual business solutions, and a cofounder of Laurus International, a call center solutions company employing hundreds domestically and abroad. As a social innovator and entrepreneur, he has led purpose-driven organizations in real estate, leadership development, communications, and business services.
Mr. Moratin is the chair of the board of directors of the Jacksonville Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, a member of the board of directors of the Orlando Economic Partnership, and a member of the board of advisers for the Urban Land Institute's Central Florida chapter. He currently serves as a senior fellow at PathNorth in Washington, DC, and as an adviser to the 4Roots Foundation and the NCF Foundation in Orlando, Florida.
Mr. Moratin is the author of the upcoming book Joy of Justice. He was awarded the 2019 CEO of the Year Award by the Orlando Business Journal and was listed as one of the 50 Most Powerful Philanthropy and Community Voices in 2018.
