Marshall E. Crawford Jr. has served as president and chief executive officer of the Housing Fund Inc. since 2017. The Housing Fund, a community development financial institution (CDFI), provides resources and creative leadership to help individuals and communities create and maintain affordable and healthy places to live.

Prior to joining the Housing Fund, Mr. Crawford served as president of housing and multifamily development for Community Ventures Corporation from 2016 to 2017, management consultant and senior director for the Southern Region of NeighborWorks America from 2003 to 2016, and safety and soundness examiner in the Office of Thrift Supervision for the Department of the Treasury from 1999 to 2003.

Mr. Crawford is a member of the board of directors of the Nashville Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. He also serves on the Community Development Advisory Board for Truist Financial Partners and is a member of the African American Alliance of CDFI CEOs and My Brother's Keeper. He serves on the CEO advisory committee at the Center for Nonprofit Management in Nashville. He was named Most Admired CEO by the Nashville Business Journal in 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022, inducted into the Affordable Housing Hall of Fame in 2019 by the Affordable Housing Commission, and is a graduate of Leadership Tennessee.

Mr. Crawford earned a BA in finance from Western Kentucky University, a master of public administration from the University of Nebraska Omaha, and an executive leadership certification from Georgetown University.
